Hurts Like Hell

After three days of tramping the banks of the Chemung River south of the city, I am sore and cranky. Twisted my back getting stuff for RiverDogging, but it was totally worth it.

My temples are throbbing, because it is the time of year that brings migraines. No real episodes yet, because when I see one coming, I lie down or get out of the light immediately. Otherwise I simply avoid the situations in the first place.

Back to work tomorrow. Yep. The job is still there.

So far.

Frankly, the Newtown Creek is so magical, one could spend the entire summer there, minus the rainstorms. Winter, though, would have me looking for new digs.

And there's still the problem of whoever was targeting the homeless. Guess I would have to keep my job to be able to go back home on the WestSide.

Have you ever tried the old trick of cupping your hands, breathing into them with your mouth, then breathing that air back in through your nose, doing it several times repeatedly? This sometimes worked when I felt a migraine coming on, especially when my vision was being affected.

Also, one time I was in a dentist's office when I felt an episode coming on. He wheeled up one of those long tubes of pure oxygen and gave me some, and I was back to normal in seconds. Wish we could get a small tube of that stuff to carry in our purses. Good luck!
